This is a great opportunity for friends to hang out, a unique date night option, or a place to come solo and connect with fellow art enthusiasts. First Friday: Docent Education and Conversation

Cuban Poetry Reading
Domenici Education Building 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, NM6 pm Two award-winning poets from Cuba, Ruiz Montes and Alfredo Zaldívar, will be coming to Albuquerque in April to launch two new books of poetry, published by Red Mountain Press in Santa Fe. The books will be bilingual editions, with Spanish-English translations provided by renowned poet Margaret Randall. The two poets, who are current editor and founder, respectively, of Ediciones Vigía, an internationally known handmade book collective, will discuss that collective and will present bilingual readings of their works. ¡Salud y Sabor!: Nuevo México
Domenici Education Building 1701 4th Street SW, Albuquerque, NM5:30 pm to 7:30 pm Salud y Sabor, a partnership between the Agri-cultura Network, Street Food Institute, and the NHCC, is a free evening of food, art, and entertainment aimed at providing families with an opportunity to connect around nutrition, cooking, healthy lifestyles, and culture. Once a month, community members gather for cooking demonstrations using fresh, locally grown ingredients, as well as fun art activities for kids and adults, health screenings, and live entertainment. History and Literary Arts Building2 pm to 4 pm Join Rebecca Blum Martinez, professor of bilingual and ESL education in the College of Education at the University of New Mexico, for a talk on the history and present state of bilingual education in New Mexico. Blum Martinez has worked with and advocated for bilingual students and their families in New Mexico since 1975.
